Zygote
Intra-Fallopian Transfer
Unlike GIFT, these procedures allow for laboratory observation
of fertilization in vitro. In TET, forty eight hours after retrieval
the resulting embryos are surgically transferred into the woman's
fallopian tubes. In ZIFT, twenty four hours after retrieval, the
resulting zygotes are transferred into the woman's tubes.
TET/ ZIFT can be a treatment of choice for patients with cervical
abnormalities, a history of prior difficult cervical embryo transfer and
male factor issues. |
